Last month, a group of colleagues from KAEFER KOSTEC in Peru participated in a running event to raise money to support professional athletes. Our team supported 14-year-old taekwondo athlete Adjani del Aguila who represented Peru at the 2019 Taekwondo Pan American Games in Portland, USA in June. Adjani came in second place! We are very happy to have helped a little to make her dream as an athlete become reality.

Twelve employees of KAEFER KOSTEC took part in the "Life Lima 42K" running event, raising money for professional Peruvian athletes, allowing them to pursue their goals. By running 10k each, our colleagues supported Adjani del Águila. She is a taekwondo player and gold medalist from Pucallpa, who will represent Peru at the Taekwondo Pan American Games 2019 in Portland, USA in June. Good luck Adjani!

KAEFER in Kuwait celebrated 10 million man-hours without LTI. This great milestone covers more than 6 years of work with enormous challenges such as temperatures ranging from 45 °C in summer to 0 °C in winter. Our team of KAEFER Montage in Leipzig, Germany were awarded the "Safety Award 2018" by Total-Raffinerie Mitteldeutschland. The award was presented by Bernard Pinatel, President Refining & Chemical TOTAL, and Prime Minister of Saxony-Anhalt, Dr. Reiner Haselhoff. KAEFER in Saudi Arabia has been awarded a significant contract for scaffolding works at the Ras Tanura Refinery by our client TECNICAS REUNIDAS. The 'Ras Tanura Refinery Clean Fuels and Aromatics Project' is an upgrade project to Saudi Aramco's refinery to comply with expected future environmental regulations. During the past years, KAEFER in Saudi Arabia has already executed several important projects at the Ras Tanura Refinery for different clients. This new project started in April and is expected to run until September 2020.

Two experienced site managers from KAEFER Industrie in Germany conducted a 1-week training course on "Insulating with polyurethane foam (PU foam)" for apprentices in their 3rd year of vocational training. The participants were able to learn both theoretical knowledge and practical skills - from preparing a sheet metal jacket for refrigeration pipes to its assembly and finally, foaming of the pipes. This important and fun training is to take place again next year. A big hand to the site managers for their commitment and dedication!
KAEFER KOSTEC has started to work on a new project at SCCs (Southern Copper Corporation) smelter in Ilo-Peru. Working for contractor AID INGENIEROS, the KAEFER KOSTEC team will provide thermal insulation of pipes and equipment for the gas treatment of furnaces in the smelter. Another opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities and professionalism.
The KAEFER team in Brazil of RIP Serviços Industriais has launched the "RIP in Balance" programme to support the health and well-being of their employees. Quizes, games and newsletters promote physical exercise, healthy eating and attention to well-being - to keep body and mind in balance. What a great initiative!
KAEFER KOSTEC recently finished the project "Polideportivo Villa El Salvador" for the Pan American Games in Lima 2019. Working for the contractor Consorcio Construcción Lima 2019 OHL-JE, KAEFER KOSTEC applied fire protection coatings to the stadium structures. This was the first painting job performed by KAEFER in Peru. After the excellent results and the very positive feedback received from the client, we are looking forward to further develop this very important business in Peru.
On 5 April the Kinderhospiz Löwenherz e.V. received a donation from the KAEFER FOUNDATION, which was collected on the occasion of the KAEFER centenary in 2018. The donation supports the incredible work of volunteers dedicated to children and young adults with uncurable diseases. Read more here.

Max, the KAEFER safety mascot, has been taking a tour of our Brazilian branches. Max participates in several security campaigns that are being held daily at RIP Serviços Industriais, from north to south. The main objective is to further strengthen our Safety Culture, to transport information and raise awareness about the importance to respect norms, rules and procedures.
